Who We Are
Australian Med AI supports the prevention and control of disease by developing, evaluating, and supporting the responsible use of AI in healthcare grounded in clinical reality, strong governance, and public benefit.
Our Purpose
We exist to help clinicians and health services use AI safely and ethically to prevent avoidable deterioration, reduce delays, and improve care quality and patient flow without replacing clinical judgement.
What We Do
- Develop and validate AI tools to reduce preventable complications and deterioration.
- Support implementation and evaluation in hospitals and clinics to improve patient flow and reduce delays.
- Provide education and guidance to clinicians, health services, and policy makers on safe and ethical AI.
- Support translational research that targets earlier detection and reduced disease burden through AI-enabled care models.

Meet The Founders
Dr. Alasdair Leslie (MBBS, MBEE)
Co-founder
Cardiology Advanced Trainee, Director of Braxholme Brahmans & PhD Candidate.
Alasdair Leslie is a Cardiology Advanced Trainee at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and a clinical researcher focused on integrating artificial intelligence into Australian healthcare. He is currently undertaking a PhD examining how AI and digital health technologies can help bridge the metropolitan–rural health divide and improve access to advanced cardiac care in regional communities. This work builds on his studies in the Masters of Biotechnology, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at Johns Hopkins University.Beyond medicine, Alasdair is a Director of Branxholme Brahmans. His dual perspective as a specialist clinician and primary producer informs his passion for developing practical, scalable technologies that serve Australia’s most remote communities.
Dr. Brandon Stretton (MClinED, GCCE, MBBS, PhD(c))

Respiratory Advanced Trainee | PhD Candidate.
Dr Brandon Stretton is a Respiratory Advanced Trainee at Central Adelaide Local Health Network and co director of Australian Med AI. He recently submitted his PhD at the University of Adelaide, focused on leveraging electronic medical record data and digital health tools to strengthen clinical workflows, operational performance, and patient outcomes. Brandon has published extensively across perioperative medicine, predictive analytics, and health system improvement, and is passionate about helping clinicians use AI safely and effectively in real world practice.
